1N4001 general-purpose silicon rectifier diode, 1A / 50V, axial package.Pedal-builder note: Commonly used in stompbox power sections for reverse-polarity protection and supply protection. It can also be used as a higher-current silicon clipping diode in experimental overdrive and fuzz circuits.

1N4148 silicon switching diode in DO-35 package.Pedal-builder note: The 1N4148 is a standard substitute for the 1N914 in many stompbox clipping stages, including Big Muff Pi and Pro Co RAT-style builds. It is also widely used for switching, protection and clipping in DIY pedals.
